Fresh Pineapple
The pineapple is indigenous to southern Brazil and Paraguay.
Colombus encountered the pineapple on his 1493 journey and took
it back to Europe with him, and from there it traveled across
the seas as a cure for scurvy. They do not grow on trees, but
on plants that are technically an herb. When selecting a pineapple,
choose one with fresh green leaves and no brown spots.
